Frequently
Asked
Questions

Toyota hybrid, plug-in hybrid, fuel cell, and battery electric vehicles manufactured during or after the 2020 model year receive comprehensive limited warranty coverage for up to 10 years from the in-service date or 150,000 miles, as well as an EV Drive Components Warranty of up to 8 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. As a bonus, all models come with a New Vehicle Limited Warranty that provides 36 months or 36,000 miles of coverage.
Battery lifespan is based on a wide range of factors, including usage, driving habits, and climate conditions. Thankfully, batteries are designed to last the average life of the vehicle with proper maintenance, allowing you to make the most of every adventure.
Battery performance naturally degrades over time and can be lengthened by limiting exposure to extreme heat or cold, keeping the battery within a 15 to 85 percent state-of-charge, and not allowing the battery to become fully discharged.
Excessive fast charger use can lessen the lifespan of an EV battery over time, which is why Toyota recommends a maximum use of twice daily. In addition, the usage of Level 2 charging is recommended during extreme weather conditions.
Electric vehicles can be jump-started in ideal situations because they feature a 12-volt battery that's designed for accessories and a high-voltage drive battery. For additional details, please contact our team or explore your Toyota Owner's Manual.
